Systems Integration

Our Engineering/electrical design staff as well as field technicians have extensive experience with the Modular/Containerized BESS Energy Systems. Our engineering staff have 40 years of electrical design in most aspects in the electrical industry. Including commercial and institutional, HV transmission, HV Substations, Industrial process design, power generation, control; BMS systems, Fire Suppression; life safety, DC power and automation.

We have the ability to engineer and design a project from the ground up, work with customer’s engineering staff to add input and/or value to their design, or simply interpret and install a completed set of engineered drawings and work scope. Our field electrical technicians have experience and training as well as apprentices who gain experience and education through our programs.

Past Projects Include the Installation of:

  • Power & lighting installation

  • Cable tray system installations

  • DC string installations – both cabled as well as solid bus

  • Rigging of battery modules and combiners

  • FSS systems including interconnect to dry chemical (StatX) and sprinkler system

  • HVAC power & control

  • BMS systems

  • Emergency shut off via door interlocks, EM Pushbuttons, shut trips

  • DC termination

  • Ground Fault installation (to feeder bus), or integral to power distribution

  • Grounding systems

  • Low voltage power distribution – 600V and below

  • Medium voltage work – 13.2 - 5kV – however in projects other that BESS System

  • Testing:

    • Insulation resistance testing – both with meggers as well as Hi-Pot testing

    • Control panels – point to point, continuity, signal calibration

    • Ground resistance (for module to ground grid) as well as Soil Resistivity testing (for site)

Installation

Site Preparation: Project management, design & engineering, and installation of the site to be prepared for enclosures. (Civil engineering, Electrical engineer, Mechanical engineering, on-site installation of engineered site, GTI management of site)

  • Onsite FAT’s

  • Full Commissioning & Testing of BESS Units (Programming as well if needed)

  • Onsite Electrical Installation (cabling, power systems, high voltage, low voltage, etc.)

  • Rigging of BESS Units

  • Placement of BESS Units

  • Connection of BESS Units to Power Supply

  • Any Plumbing/Mechanical Connections

  • On-going Maintenance and Site Services

Battery Integration at Site

As a part of GTI’s onsite installation services, GTI offers battery installation for BESS units. GTI offers a Global Deployment reach covering all of North America along with overseas/hot areas. GTI’s trained BESS installation team has all of the necessary skills to perform various types of battery installations, onsite FAT’s, commissioning, & augmentation.
